The Mets' storied franchise had gone 50 years without throwing a no-hitter. After numerous close calls, history was finally made on June 1, 2012 when Johan Santana needed 134 pitches to hold the Cardinals hitless in an 8-0 win.
King Felix throws perfect game vs. Rays
Felix Hernandez had never thrown a no-hitter throughout the first seven years of his career, but on August 14, 2012, the King was perfect for 27 straight outs against the Rays to throw the first perfect game in Mariners history.
