Episode 1
Gavin returns from Head Office with the shocking news that a rival supermarket is due to open on Valco's patch. An anxious group of staff led by Brian seek assurance, but Gavin isn't worried.
Episode 2
It's Lauda's opening day and Valco is dead. Encouraged by Daniel, Gavin drafts a crack team of spies to check out their rivals and establish what they're up against. Unfortunately, the espionage isn't quite as successful as had been hoped.
Episode 3
Customers are flocking to the newly opened Lauda which is leaving Valco trailing in its wake. The arrival of boss Brendan O'Connor who is angered at the weak response to Lauda's arrival, is the last thing Gavin needs.
Episode 4
As the turf wars continue, the promotions are becoming increasingly elaborate. When a Jersey milking cow arrives outside Valco's front door mistakenly, Gavin decides the time has come to play dirty.
Episode 5
Cheryl and Gavin agree upon a truce and vow to put an end to the dirty tricks. Despite being rivals their connection seems to be growing by the day, this feeling is brought to the fore when Cheryl's first aid skills are put to the test.
Episode 6
There's a dispute over the parking lot boundaries, re-igniting the feud between the stores, although the relationship between Gavin and Cheryl appears to have reached new heights.
Episode 7
Daniel asks Katie to take charge of the staff's fruit recognition training much to her dismay. The training causes problems for Margaret who fails the test. Ian stuns Heather with the news that her dog may no longer be alive.
Episode 8
It's Valco's 50th birthday and Gavin has organized a party celebrating 50 years of Valco Value. A treasure hunt is announced by Katie, however, Gavin and Cheryl are still not on speaking terms following the email opening scandal.
Christmas Special
The theme at Valco this year is 'Black Christmas,' with many items at rock-bottom prices. The customers flock to Valco in their droves and chaos reigns supreme in the aisles.
