The Yorkshire Vet
In The Yorkshire Vet, Julian Norton is joined by his partner, fellow vet, and former Herriot trainee, Peter Wright, as well as their dedicated team of staff at Skeldale Veterinary Centre (James Herriot’s original practice).
Episode 1
Julian Norton receives an emergency call from alpaca breeder Jackie, whose prize-winning female Cinderella is having a difficult labour. Peter Wright has to castrate Larry the chinchilla who is responsible for a population explosion.
Episode 2
Julian receives a late-night call out to a cow that is giving birth, but complications with the delivery leave the lives of both mother and calf hanging in the balance. Naughty Labrador Alfie has swallowed a spatula while stealing food.
Episode 3
Julian Norton is called out on an emergency to a heifer that is in agony, with an object stuck in its painful, swollen, and infected hoof. Peter removes a large lump from the head of golden retriever, Holly.
Episode 4
Julian faces the tricky task of castrating a group of alpacas whose owner has been using holistic techniques to pacify them. Peter treats a Yorkshire Terrier and the team tries to save a stray cat whose leg has been snapped in two.
Episode 5
Julian decides to conduct a fertility test on an unproductive ram. Peter tends to a spaniel that needs major surgery after being hit by a car. Julian has to travel to Thirsk to tend to the wounded following a battle between two terrapins.
Episode 6
Julian Norton tries to save Millie, a much-loved farm dog and an albino wallaby called Albert. Peter Wright has his hands full with a cheeky pygmy goat called Charlie. Other patients include a hedgehog called Monster.
Episode 7
Julian's patients include a horse with infected hooves, while Peter Wright is worried about a pedigree cat that is in labour and also has to deal with an angry monitor lizard. The two vets find time to attend the Great Yorkshire Show.
Episode 8
Julian Norton is called out to a suspected case of foot-and-mouth disease, while the practice's other patients include a Great Dane with cancer and a ram that is to be castrated.
Episode 9
Julian is called out to a calf with a large lump, while other patients include a pair of pygmy goats, a farm full of feral cats, and Fern, a sick spaniel. The staff also find time to spring a birthday surprise on Peter Wright.
Episode 10
Julian Norton tries to save the lives of a heifer and her unborn calf, while his colleague Peter Wright also faces dramatic labour with a Yorkshire Terrier.
Winter On The Moors Special
Called out to remote farms to tend animals in labour and the sick and injured, vets Julian Norton and Peter Wright must battle the weather to treat and save patients including owls and cattle.
Yorkshire Vet At Christmas Special
Julian Norton and Peter Wright are invited to switch on the Christmas lights at Skeldale and also asked to find a donkey that can be used for the nativity scene.
