My Kitchen Rules New Zealand
It premiered September 25, with new hosts and judges, Pete Evans and Manu Feildel. Unlike previous seasons, and specific only to the NZ edition, only 6 teams went head-to-head in a single round.
Episode 1
Ten pairs of home cooks from around the country meet at MKR headquarters, where judges Ben Bayly and Gareth Stewart reveal what they'll be competing for a grand prize of $100,000.
Episode 2
After the first instant restaurant in which prison psychologists Hannah and Cathy set the benchmark with 81 points the competition now turns to Taranaki to be hosted by Laurence and Paul.
Episode 3
With two teams already on the scoreboard, the competition now heads to Hawkes Bay for the third instant restaurant, to be hosted by married couple Monique and Henry.
Episode 4
With three teams now on the scoreboard, Hannah and Cathy with 81 points, Monique and Henry on 72, and Laurence and Paul trailing on 64, the competition now heads south to Canterbury.
Episode 5
Hannah and Cathy lead with 81 points, Monique and Henry on 72, while there's a close contest at the bottom of the table with Ruth and Cheryl on 65 and Laurence and Paul on 64.
Episode 6
With sporty mates Laurence and Paul leaving the competition as the lowest-placed team in Group One, attention now turns to the five teams in Group Two.
Episode 7
With Jay and Sarah setting the early lead in Group Two with a score of 69, the pressure now comes on foodie friends Lauren and Simon as they host their instant restaurant in Palmerston North.
Episode 8
With Lauren and Simon posting 71 points ahead of Jay and Sarah's 69 on the Group Two scoreboard, the spotlight now falls on Auckland foodie friends William and Zoe.
Episode 9
Now the heat comes on sisters Kimberley and Brooke, who are hosting their instant restaurant at their farm near Apiti in Manawatu.
Episode 10
In Group Two's hotly-contested instant restaurant round, William and Zoe lead on 80 points, followed by Lauren and Simon on 71 and Jay and Sarah on 69, with Kimberley and Brooke on 64.
Episode 11
After the lowest-scoring teams in the MKR instant restaurant rounds, Laurence and Paul and Katrina and Natasha were eliminated, there are now just eight teams left in the competition.
Episode 12
After the People's Choice barbecue challenge, gatecrashers Ben and Reagan are facing sudden death, while early favourites Hannah and Cathy have been eliminated.
Episode 13
Four teams face sudden death: Auckland gatecrashers Ben and Reagan, Waikato couple Jay and Sarah, Manawatu sisters Kimberley and Brooke, and Wellington gatecrashers Jess and Stella.
Episode 14
With the elimination of Ben and Reagan and Kimberley and Brooke in the previous sudden death challenge, just seven teams remain.
Episode 15
The bottom team, gatecrashers Jess and Stella, were once again sent to sudden death.
Episode 16
Today's episode is double sudden death. Four teams - Jess and Stella, William and Zoe, Travis and Jeremy, and Lauren and Simon - face off in a double-elimination challenge.
Episode 17
After the elimination of Travis and Jeremy and Lauren and Simon in the previous sudden death cook-off, just five teams remain.
Episode 18
In the previous People's Choice challenge at Auckland's Pakuranga College, it was the end of the road for Canterbury mother and daughter team Cheryl and Ruth.
Episode 19
The first semifinal was a tussle between Hawkes Bay couple Monique and Henry and Auckland foodies William and Zoe, with William and Zoe triumphing with their skillful and delicious three-course meal.
