Grand Star
Based on the saga by French author Georges J. Arnaud, this sci-fi offering imagines another Ice Age in the world's future, where only 2% of our current population has survived.

Chapter I
Kurt, Cal, and Suki encounter a mysterious light, and Cal's search for answers leads him to a Sun Renewer named Ma Ker.

Chapter II
Cal and Kurt, with the help of Cal's father Liam, hide Ma Ket from Damien as they nurse her back to health. Ma Ker informs Cal of his importance to the future of the world.

Chapter III
An accident causes Cal to remove his gloves, and despite the -80° C temperature, he somehow avoids getting frostbite. He travels with Kurt and Suki to learn more about his past.

Chapter IV
Suki finds old videotapes in what may be a TV-station vault and accepts a dinner-date offer from Damien when Cal becomes upset with her risk-taking ways.

Chapter V
Kurt gets into trouble after his ID cards turn up in the underworld, and has to choose between incarceration or joining the Pointsmen Academy.

Chapter VI
Kurt and the other trainees go out to destroy a cache of old paintings of the pre-ice landscape, and Kurt discovers that they are being subjected to psychological indoctrination while they sleep.

Chapter VII
Cal meets a Man of the Cold named Zel, with whom he has much in common, and decides to help him against the authorities.

Chapter VIII
Knowing that thousands will die if Palidor succeeds in his plan to shut down Grand Star, Liam decides to risk a meeting with the leader of the Renewers.

Chapter IX
Damien is ordered to locate the source of the power failures that are becoming ever more frequent. Jonah asks Cal to help locate his parents, who have been taken away by the Pointsmen.

Chapter X
Cal tries to win back Suki's trust and with Kurt's help is able to enter the Prison Train. Jonah embraces his new-found freedom and decides never to return to the village with his parents.

Chapter XI
Kurt doesn't quite know what to make of his father Marcus's sudden reappearance after a 10-year absence. Meanwhile, Palidor instructs Marcus to investigate his opponents on the Council.

Chapter XII
Suki is having trouble deciding whether to leave Grand Star with the Cabaret, to take care of a pair of orphans, or remain behind with Cal. Meanwhile, Kurt has a reconciliation with his father.

Chapter XIII
Power outages and supply shortages continue to plague the residents of Grand Star, with Jonah among those planning new disruptions. The inhabitants learn that big changes are going to be announced.

Chapter XIV
Cal quests for answers beyond Grand Star and ends up worrying those he left behind; the People of the Cold share information with Cal about the Renewers.

Chapter XV
Liam, Suki, and Kurt grow worried about Cal's absence. Meanwhile, Cal is introduced to a man known as the Wiseman, and Cal has a surprising reaction to the mention of his mother.

Chapter XVI
There is turmoil in Grand Star when Palidor decides to evacuate the station and use a lottery to select those who get to leave for the safety of the new station.

Chapter XVII
The Renewers are determined to blow up the new station despite the risk of death for millions of innocent people. Liam is determined to intervene.

Chapter XVIII
Palidor learns of the existence of the Polar Station and its geothermal resources. He sends Damien and Cal to convince the people of Polar Station to share their energy.

Chapter XIX
While searching for the Polar Station with Cal, Damien is captured by the People of the Cold. But Cal learns more about his past.

Chapter XX
Damien threatens to destroy the Polar Station unless the populace agrees to a takeover. Suki tells the Council what life has become for a young person like her. Cal relates his personal experiences.

Chapter XXI
Cal has proof that his father is a Renewer; Palidor looks into the possibility of grafting genes from the People of the Cold into himself so that he can resist the cold.

Chapter XXII
Suki updates Cal about Liam; Damien seeks out a Person of the Cold for Palidor; Cal and Kurt bribe an ex-Pointsman for information.

Chapter XXIII
The drugs and heat affect Nara, prompting Kurt to move her to a cooler location in the underworld; news of Liam's disappearance impacts a Council meeting.

Chapter XXIV
Hamsun is arrested for having led Cal to his father's cell. Damien tells Suki his plans for Grand Star and offers to free Liam in exchange for her testimony about Palidor's mental illness.

Chapter XXV
Cal brings a vital chemical formula to the Renewers for their cannon, and in exchange asks for help freeing his father. Meanwhile, Palidor's leadership is challenged.

Chapter XXVI
Cal learns the full truth about his parentage. Despite the urgency of the situation, the Renewers debate when to fire the canon.
