One day, Maa learns about Sev's plan to take everyone on a trip to space to mark their graduation. Maa is thrilled, and cooperates with his friends to finish building the spaceship.
Rescue Varu
The reason the spaceship suddenly took to the skies was because Midori had been playing with the controls. Sev and the others breathe a sigh of relief, and they continue their journey to search for Maa's parents.

Maa and the gang land on a planet they find during their travels, and set out to look for food.

The gang makes an emergency landing on a planet full of beautiful fields of flowers. Piko is delighted, and Bal and Guts'n run around gathering flowers for Piko.

The SS Kids Star lands on Planet Battlestar, and are immediately surrounded by the king of the planet, King Dokkin, and his entourage. King Dokkin challenges Maa and his buddies to a contest with their lives as the prize.

Maa proposes stopping by the nearby Planet Kaneko to get some food. In the town, Maa rescues a girl who was about to be hit by a wagon.
Sorror Of The Planet Sorror
Maa and the others are playing on the beautiful shining Planet Primer when suddenly the planet begins to shake. They escape and breathe a sigh of relief, only to realize that the planet is chasing after the SS Kids Star!
Gak! The Castle Of The Armor
At an oasis, Piko and the others meet Saborin, who marvels at a sandwich. When Maa and the gang arrive, Saborin can't be found. Meanwhile, Bal and Guts'n head towards an old castle, but they take a long time to come back.

The youngster with the big pinchers, that's my soul mate! The girl from Planet Tarot, Simone, believes in fortunetelling, and falls in love with Bal.
Doremic, The Small Orchestra
Little baby musical instruments are born from the eggs that Midori finds on Planet Opal. The whole ship is turned upside-down by the energetic little ones! But they go overboard and break Maa's parents' holography device.
Little Rascals In The Submarine City
Everyone is starting to feel the lack of exercise from spaceship life, so they all go down to play on Planet Tepeta, which is mostly covered by ocean.

Guts'n has disappeared from the SS Kids Star! Mar thinks a creature that was outside the ship sniffing around has kidnapped him! Meanwhile, Guts'n is getting a warm welcome from an old woman on Planet Sidera Star.

Using a time machine made by Dr. Zabura, Maa goes back eight years, to the time when he came from Planet M7.8, and he tries to find clues to the whereabouts of his parents.
A Big Commotion On M7.8
What was that drink that Professor Grocer used to give to Maa when he caught a cold? Bal has a fever and a cold, so, wanting to give him that, Sev tries to get in touch with the school back on Planet M7.8.
The Homesick Grass For You
Bal can't make breakfast properly, and he gets so frustrated that he blows up! He decides to return to Planet M7.8, and tries to repair the SS Bal, but is shocked when the repair shop says that since the SS Bal was custom-made it will take a year to fix!
It Begun With Sneeze
The SS Kids Star is in a dark mood, after many long, tiresome days travelling, Tar and Bal are always at each other's throats, and Maa is in bed with a space cold.
Devil's Fortunetelling
Bal is jealous of the friendship between Maa and Piko. He gets some advice from Guts'n and decides to send flowers to get her attention, but there's no flower shop in space!
Everything Is Round At Takkon Star
Guts'n has finally had enough of Bal's bossy behavior, and flies off into space all alone. There, he is hit by a comet and is flung to a mysterious planet, where he meets the six round-bodied Taccorin brothers.
The Circus, Big Panic
Maa and the gang are drawn to Planet Roborobo, where everything is mechanical, and it is entirely inhabited by robots. Mar and the others head into town with their new robot friend, Gonchan, when they are attacked by Yutomtom!

Unable to control their aircraft, Maa and the gang land on a planet ruled by monkeys, where they are suddenly chased and captured. It seems the planet's leader, Garlon, thinks they are friends of his enemy, Prince Goro.

Maa and his friends get information about his parents from King Goro, and arrive at Planet Blumet. At a village full of sweets shops with no shopkeepers, Maa and the others are treated like bandits and arrested by Sheriff Gomodan.

Suddenly, with no advance warning, the gang teleports out of the SS Kids Star! They wind up in the room of a book-loving girl named Doris. Not only that, but Doris knows them all very well. They're all written in her books.

Three trickster brothers, Dadapee, Dadapoo, and Dadapoe, come out to meet Maa and the gang, though the three don't get along well with each another, and they even sleep in different rooms.
Defend It! The Star Of Lighthouse
Piko gets fed up with how Maa and the gang don't clean up after meals and make jokes about the menu, and takes the SS Bal Junior out into space. However, she gets lost when she enters the dangerous Black Area.

Gappy is a girl who has grown up having many experiences migrating across space. Her language and attitude is rough, but she's street smart, and she saves Maa and the gang from many tight spots.

With Gappy and her mother as guides, Maa and the gang finally reach the planet where Maa's parents are, Planet Final. But his parents have just left to help rescue people affected by a space hurricane.
