Prelude to Madness,

In post war Germany of 1919, an Austrian man speaks to enthralled crowds that fill Munich's smoky beer halls, where he draws in early allies like Rudolf Hess, Alfred Rosenberg, Ernst Rohm and Hermann Goring.

A loyal Nazi and powerful paramilitary leader, Ernst Rohm comes to the forefront alongside Hitler. Once one of his closest allies, Rohm's openly gay identity, radical beliefs, and growing power make him both indispensable and dangerous.

Alfred Rosenberg,

Alfred Rosenberg, the Nazi ideologue, crafts the racist blueprint behind the regime, proving that ideas can kill. Though Rosenberg lacks charisma and political power, his writings shape the intellectual foundation of Nazi brutality.

Joachim von Ribbentrop,

Joachim von Ribbentrop, Hitler's foreign minister becomes an architect of the Nazi-Soviet Pact. Though lacking diplomatic skill, Ribbentrop's loyalty and opportunism place him at the heart of Nazi Germany's most fateful decisions and alliances.

Albert Speer, Hitler's architect and armaments minister, builds both the physical and industrial foundations of the Nazi war machine. After the downfall, he claims ignorance of the regime's crimes to escape the gallows.

Hans Frank, Hitler's personal lawyer turned Governor-General of occupied Poland, oversees the largest of the Nazi ghettos in occupied Poland. As defeat looms, he seeks redemption through confession, but the blood on his hands seals his fate.

Martin Bormann,

Hermann Goring,

Hermann Goring, Hitler's designated successor and head of the Luftwaffe High Command, amasses power, wealth, and infamy as one of the regime's most visible leaders. As the war slips away, so does his influence, ending in a final act of defiance.

Karl Donitz, Hitler's naval commander, leads a U-boat war, and unexpectedly inherits the crumbling Third Reich. For ten fleeting days, he rules a defeated nation, navigating surrender while evading responsibility for the regime he served.

Wilhelm Keitel,

Wilhelm Keitel, Hitler's top military yes-man, signs orders that unleash war crimes and mass murder across Europe. Blindly obedient to the end, he becomes known as 'The Lackey' and ends up answering to justice at Nuremberg.

Paulus and von Manstein,

Friedrich Paulus and Erich von Manstein, two generals who chart opposite paths through the Nazi war machine, one breaking under pressure, the other clinging to his reputation. Their fates reveal the moral compromises of a military command.

Erwin Rommel, the legendary 'Desert Fox,' earns fame for his tactical brilliance, while walking a tightrope between duty and personal ambition under Hitler's rule. As the tides turn, he's pulled into a plot against the Fuhrer.

Leni Riefenstahl,

Leni Riefenstahl, a filmmaker, creates propaganda that helps mythologize Hitler and seduce a nation into extremism. After the fall of the Third Reich, she spends a lifetime denying responsibility, haunted by the very cinema she created.

Geli Raubal and Eva Braun,

Geli Raubal and Eva Braun, two women brought into Hitler's private life and forced to live in the shadow of a man consumed by power and delusion. One meets a tragic end during his rise to power, the other follows him to a deadly finale.

Carin and Emmy Goring,

Carin and Emmy Goring live lives of luxury and illusion, enabling Hermann Goring's ambitions in the Nazi regime. One a beloved companion committed to the Nazi vision, the other a star of the stage with little taste for politics.

Magda Goebbels,

Margarete Himmler and Lina Heydrich,

Margarete Himmler and Lina Heydrich stand proudly beside two of the Nazi regime's most ruthless architects, not as passive wives, but as willing participants. They help normalize a world built on terror and genocide.

Heinrich Himmler,

Heinrich Himmler, the cold and obsessive head of the SS, builds an organization of terror rooted in racial fantasy and Nordic mythology. As Nazi Germany crumbles, his desperate bid for power ends in disgrace.

Reinhard Heydrich,

Reinhard Heydrich, the ruthless figurehead behind the Holocaust's planning, wields power through deadly efficiency. His assassination is a dramatic blow to the Nazi elite, but his legacy lives on in the genocide he helps set in motion.

Rudolf Hoss, the commandant of Auschwitz, oversees the industrialized murder of over a million people with chilling detachment and bureaucratic precision. His confessions expose the horrifying mechanics, and mindset, behind the Nazi death camps.

Adolf Eichmann,

Adolf Eichmann, the bureaucrat behind the mass deportation of Jews, organizes genocide from behind a desk. After the war, he vanishes, only to be hunted down and tried decades later, gaining worldwide attention of the Holocaust.

As the Third Reich collapses, the perpetrators scatter, some dead, some hunted, others attempt to rewrite history. A final look at the unraveling threads of power within the Third Reich, asking how a regime of such horror could rise.
