Event continues from The Max with back markers of Gold class whilst the lead group of five riders sees the lead change multiple times with James Moore leading into White Rocks.

Leaving the fuel stop the riders head up Sweat and Sour to the ridge that will take them to the highest point, Mt Thaba Telle at 2500 meters Then back down the other side to head for the DSP

The riders now have to tackle the daunting Red Hill climb. Although all new trails this year, it has already got a new nick name, Red Hell. From there to the finish of Stage 1

Stage 2 started with a shortened course due in part to the heat of Day 1. Todays stage winds up from Oxen Hill to Princes Pass and ending with climbing the Royal Staircase.

The riders arrive at Bsack, possibly the scariest ascent of them all. Riding up the side of what is effectively the side of a 50 meter fish bowl.
