In the season premiere, brothers Chris and Casey Keefer are back in the Saskatchewan bushland to test their survival skills…and it might be their last time. They are desperate to find a safe spot for shelter, and clash over their first catch.

Saskatchewan’s bitter cold and unforgiving wind makes for brutal days and nights for Chris and Casey. A rainstorm adds more difficulty and discomfort. Mentally drained and hungry, the brothers must try new tactics to find food and warmth.

The lack of hunting opportunities have drained Chris and Casey’s patience. Arguments ensue when they disagree over staying put, or portaging to a new lake. Signs of a bear remind the brothers that they must remain focused in order to stay alive.

Symptoms of starvation have set in for Chris and Casey, who haven’t eaten in days. When they cross paths with a grouse, the unexpected happens. Frustration peaks as the temperatures drop. The brothers set up a new camp, but will it help the hunt?

With still no big game in sight, Chris and Casey are forced to rely on fishing for food. The cold temperatures have slowed down the fish, creating challenges. When Mother Nature brings a brutal snow storm, the brothers are tested like never before.

After weeks of trying to survive in Saskatchewan, Chris and Casey have yet to kill big game. Time is running out as the bear begin to hibernate. Mental willpower is wearing thin. But a message from back home changes everything.

A turn of events lifts the brothers’ spirits, but creates a huge hurdle they must overcome as they enter a new race against the clock. Chris and Casey reflect on the challenges they have faced so far, and the challenges that still lie ahead.

In the exciting season finale, Chris lays it all on the line one last time while bear hunting. Casey must finish one final task to make the fruits of their labor worthwhile. As the brothers inch closer to safety, they wonder what the future holds.
