On September 1, 1939, Germany’s invasion of Poland throws the world into war. No longer a European affair, the conflict spreads: in the Pacific, Japan - at war with China since 1937 - accelerates its imperial ambitions.

The Sound And The Fury - 1941-1942

In the East, Hitler launches Operation Barbarossa and invades the Soviet Union, reaching the outskirts of Moscow. But winter and Soviet resistance break his momentum. The Red Army, boosted by relentless propaganda, put up a fierce fight.

The Sound And The Fury - 1942-1943

At Stalingrad, the German 6th Army is destroyed by the Soviets. It’s the first major defeat of the Third Reich, which marks the beginning of its decline. Elsewhere, after the American victory at Guadalcanal, Japan loses the initiative in the Pacific.

The Sound And The Fury - 1944-1945

Operation Overlord is launched. With the Normandy Landings, the Allies pierce the Atlantic Wall. In the East, the Red Army sweeps through Belarus with Operation Bagration, annihilating the Wehrmacht. The end of the Third Reich is near.
