Portal To The Unknown - History Or Fabulous Legend

History Or Fabulous Legend,

Some places are magical, charming and idyllic, while others seem to be damned by the horrors that have taken place there and branded it for eternity. We don’t call those places magical – we call them haunted. One such place is the Donnelly farm near London, Ontario. That family of rebel rousers was massacred on their own property by townsfolk who were fed up with their shenanigans. Even today people say that some night the Roman line is haunted by strange cavaliers. During the Gold Rush there were a lot of rumors of lost mines, fierce battle between friends for quick fortune and even murders. The legend of the lost Creek Mine is one of those dramatic stories. But that was nothing, compared to the tale of Albert Ostman, who was literally kidnapped and held hostage by a family of Sasquatches for more than a week. Ostman finally got away when he….well …..You’ll see!

Portal To The Unknown - Talking With Dead People

Talking With Dead People,

Picture a medium at a séance saying, “Spirit, are you there?” followed by the sound of light tapping on the table in response. Sounds pretty cliché, right? Or perhaps even laughable to some. But did you know that former Prime Minister Mackenzie King used to call on spirits through mediums? The University of Manitoba still has extraordinary photographs taken during those séances by Dr. T. G. Hamilton. Skeptics are always saying that they want physical proof before they will believe that something is real. Some people think that paranormal phenomena only occur to those who are destined to experience them. We know that’s not true. We’ll show you a poltergeist captured on film during a scientific experiment, and another who decided he would like to be a guest anchor on the news

Portal To The Unknown - Fringe Science

Fringe Science,

There are more geniuses in the fields of science and technology than just the famous ones we’ve heard about. In this episode, we’ll be introducing you to Arthur Matthews, an electrical engineer who has come up with some amazing inventions, and John Hutchinson, who defies all laws of physics in his laboratory built in a ship that used to belong to the Canadian Marines. These fascinating individuals have made a place for themselves in history with their mysterious experiments. For generations, voodoo sorcery has appeared in books and movies. Our minds were filled with visions of the living dead, until light was shed on this practice back in 1980. Discover the secret of voodoo witch doctors and come with us as we follow Dr. Bernard Graad, who shows that not all healers are charlatans.

Portal To The Unknown - Poltergeists' Fury

Poltergeists' Fury,

The Exorcist is without a doubt the most well-known horror movie of its genre. Its heroine, a child possessed by the Devil, frightened throngs of moviegoers, giving the impression that it could happen to any child. And that’s exactly what this episode is all about! We present footage of truly bizarre behavior exhibited by a 6-year-old boy in Acton Vale, Quebec and one of the most compelling of poltergeist stories in Canadian history, the one of the Dagg family. Do you think you have a better chance of seeing a ghost in a cemetery? If you do you are dead wrong! Maybe ghost, as we do, prefer being seen in theaters and even in our schools!

Portal To The Unknown - Murder By A Devil

Murder By A Devil,

Can Satan physically possess a human form? No one can say for sure, since no one really knows whether or not he exists. What we do know is that there are people in this world who believe in him, and believe that he could someday take over the world. They commit heinous crimes in his name. A few of these satanic crimes are presented in this disturbing episode, for mature audiences only, although children do appear in the episode. A 7-year-old child was the victim of one of the worst crimes imaginable… committed by two other children. The case is quite real, viciously authentic, and hard to swallow. Would you let these bloodthirsty warlocks into your home? Some people believe that Jack the Ripper was a member of the royal family. A writer recently claimed to have solved the mystery, saying that Jack was, in fact, an insane artist. And now a new suspect has come to light: a doctor by the name of Thomas Neil Cream. He was Canadian… We shouldn’t be surprised to learn that Canada has its own bunch of nut cases, including Albert Johnson, a trapper on the Rat River. We know their names but do we really know where they are?

Portal To The Unknown - Lost Treasures

Lost Treasures,

The dream of finding a buried treasure is irresistible, and if we’re not looking for one, it’s because we don’t know where to look. Well, that’s not the case for all the people who have been trying for over 200 years to find the buried treasure lying beneath Oak Island, Nova Scotia. Others have been trying to find the gold mine in Alberta discovered by a man named Lemon, who lost his way after he killed his partner Blackjack with an axe and could never find his precious gold mine again. Can you? Do we have a soul? Can we remember our past life? The case of Marcel Robillard seems to answer to these fundamental questions. His quest is one of the most intriguing one of recent history.

Portal To The Unknown - Lights In The Sky

Lights In The Sky,

A lot of unexplained events have been attributed to aliens, such as crop circles, and the famous men in black, who suddenly appear after a UFO sighting and intimidate witnesses. It took Will Smith portraying one for people to start believing that they existed! Stephan Michalack made a strange encounter that will change the rest of his life. Did he saw a secret prototype or a real UFO? Even if we were to produce fifty episodes on UFOs alone, we would only be scratching the surface of the many witness accounts that exist today. Canada is certainly not lacking in sightings and a lot of people watching this episode will have already seen a UFO at some point in their life. Perhaps they saw the craft that hovered for hours over the Bonaventure Hotel in Montreal… or perhaps they were near Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia, when a UFO crashed into the ocean.

Portal To The Unknown - Mysteries From The Past

Mysteries From The Past,

Some ancient artifacts defies all explanations. What about the crystal skull discovered by Frederick Mitchell-Hedges, which served as a model for the Indiana Jones movie – where did it come from? It is attributed with having both good and evil powers. And what about the mysterious location of Champlain tomb? Why did a crew suddenly abandon its ship, when the ship was in perfectly good working order? Many mysteries are quickly forgotten when they are rare, but the story of the Mary Céleste still lingers in the minds of many sea-faring folk, who would like to know the reason why it was abandoned! Other incidents are quickly forgotten because they only happen once every few centuries. For instance, everyone in a small Inuit village got up and left suddenly one night, food still cooking over the fire, weapons left behind and dogs found dead, tied to trees. Did this mystery really happen? And what are we to make of the disappearance of the White Bird, 12 days before Charles Lindberg made his historic flight?

Portal To The Unknown - From the Deep

In Canadian harbors you can hear fishermen talking bout strange encounters with sea monsters such as giant snakes and giant squids. But do the Cadborosaurus and the Kraken really ever exist? Some mysteries are so well-known that they have become legend. In Manitoba, the legend of Manipogo has been passed on from generation to generation for decades. According to storytellers, Manipogo is a real sea serpent living in Lake Manitoba. Manipogo’s fame is overshadowed by Ogopogo, a creature that is more than 15 meters long, haunting the depths of British Columbia’s Okanagan Lake.

No one knows for sure, but it took all the food in the house and left 40 cm long footprints behind. In Alberta and Saskatchewan which creature attack cow at night leaving no trace on the ground?

Portal To The Unknown - Unclassified Files

Unclassified Files,

Police don’t like to admit that their successes are occasionally due to the fact that they have called upon the remarkable and mysterious talents of psychics, who are able to see, hear and feel things that the rest of us cannot. We present two intriguing cases taken from actual Canadian police files. Human beings are capable of possessing amazing psychic abilities. Such is the case for Irene Hughes of Prince George, British Columbia, who was able to assist the police back in 1970 thanks to her clear vision of what happened to the kidnapping victims as the FLQ wreaked havoc in Quebec in October of that year. Researchers who delve into the world of mystery are looking for proof, or sometimes just a clue. In canadian police files some events aren’t still totally explained today. Such are the case of Albert Jonhson’s manhunt in Northwest Territories and the strange investigation about Vernon Booher murder case.
