Molly Dawes is a feisty east London girl with a load of friends and a constant hangover from all the drinking she does. She works in a nail bar by day and clubs by night, but then she discovers that her unemployed dad has come up with a dodgy scheme.

Episode 1

Molly finds the discipline of army training a shock to her system. She can’t understand why you’re not meant to answer back if you don’t like what you’re being told. But gradually she finds purpose and fulfilment.

Episode 2

Molly arrives in Afghanistan and has to prove herself to her new platoon. Meanwhile, she is surprised to meet an old flame, Smurf, who is part of the regiment and who makes her life harder than it should be.

Episode 3

Molly strikes up a special friendship with a young Afghan girl. She has to learn that the army rules are there for a reason, and she cannot overstep the line emotionally and get too involved.

Episode 4

Molly returns home on rest and relaxation, to find that her life and perspective on the world has changed beyond measure since she has been away. Her family can see that they are growing apart.

Episode 5

As the platoon packs up and prepares to withdraw from the Afghan conflict, Molly finds herself at the centre of a surprising and emotionally charged love story between Captain James and Smurf both of whom declare their affections for her.

Episode 6

Aftermath. Molly returns home from Afghanistan to pick up the pieces of her life - and to attempt to find a new world with the man of her dreams. A surprise twist of events takes Molly to distant shores where surprising new adventures will await.

Pluto

Georgie Lane, an experienced army medic joins Captain James and 2 Section on a humanitarian tour to Kenya. She’s promised her fiancé, Jamie, that she’ll be safe and will be home soon to get married.

Georgie is hooded and dragged out of the truck by the Al Shabaab men. Abu, a British convert is particularly terrifying and throws her into a cell with another hostage. It is Kicki. The two women are forced together in this strangest of situations.

Everyone is relieved that Georgie is alive and well. She is desperate to get home to Jamie and her family but needs to give her after-action report and help identify Abu first. Abu fled the compound before her rescue.

Georgie is haunted by Abu. She is dreaming about him and seeing him everywhere. Jamie is very worried about her and approaches Captain James to check whether Georgie is in any danger. James reassures him that the army will protect her.

Georgie is throwing herself into the last minute wedding plans when she’s asked to meet Abu’s mother, Stella. She apologises for her son’s actions. Georgie learns that Abu converted to Islam because he fell in love with Saira, a Muslim girl.

Our Girl is the story of East London lass Molly Dawes’ emotional rite-of-passage as a young medic and woman in the British Army’s final deployment of troops to Afghanistan.
