Saga's old colleague, Rasmus Larsson, takes her place while she is on a leave of absence from the investigation. Meanwhile, Freddie Holst locates captive Jeanette using a tracking device, but when he finds her, he discovers that his newborn baby has been kidnapped. With all resources focused on the abduction, Saga is brought back from suspension to help Henrik follow a lead on the kidnapper. The investigation into Saga's mother's death is complete, and Saga is finally allowed to read her own testimony before it is submitted to the prosecutor. Will she be convicted of murdering her mother?

The Bridge - Episode 1

When a prominent Danish gender campaigner is found murdered in Malmö, Swedish detective Saga Norén is assigned a new Danish colleague, Hanne, to help with the investigation, but their relationship does not get off to a good start with feelings still running high about Saga's involvement in sending her previous Danish partner to jail for murder.

The Bridge - Episode 2

When Hanne is severely injured, detective Henrik Sabroe joins Saga in the investigation. When another murder occurs, bearing similarities to the first killing, suspicions fall on Danish blogger Lise Friis Andersen, who has openly expressed her aversion to the two victims, though she now denies the allegations. Meanwhile, the search continues for the son of the first victim, who is on the run. When Saga learns her superior, Hans, has been kidnapped, she shifts the focus of the investigation to finding him.

The Bridge - Episode 3

The Malmö police receive a ransom video from Hans's kidnapper. They manage to locate him, but while attempting to free him, he is kidnapped once again by a second person. Meanwhile, Morten Anker is shot to death, and all the killings appear to be connected to blogger Lise Friis Andersen... could she be the key to luring the perpetrator into a trap? Saga begins to show signs of the strain she is under when her mother arrives at the station unannounced.

The Bridge - Episode 4

Saga's former boss, Hans, is still in a coma. Meanwhile, Saga makes a mistake during a dramatic hostage situation but manages to bring a suspect in for questioning. However, following a fourth murder, the detectives realise he is responsible for only one of the killings, leaving them back at square one in their search for the culprit. What is the connection between the victims? The relationship between detectives Sara Norén and Henrik Sabroe becomes more intimate.

The Bridge - Episode 5

Whilst nursing the hospitalised Hans, Lillian discovers a wound inside his cheek, prompting Saga to order a re-examination of the previous victims. Meanwhile, Saga's new superior, Linn, begins investigating her past, questioning her actions and limiting her responsibilities, which causes the detective to begin doubting her abilities.

The Bridge - Episode 6

Detectives Saga and Henrik discover a connection between the victims and artwork hanging in a museum, which leads them to interview Freddie Holst, a successful businessman with a substantial art collection. Meanwhile, a new murder occurs, making the investigation increasingly complicated. Saga faces mounting pressure both at work and in her personal life when she learns that her mother has committed suicide.

The Bridge - Episode 7

A new murder has taken place — this time, an elderly couple who were foster carers. Saga and Henrik receive a breakthrough lead on the potential killer and set out to track him down. Meanwhile, the police obtain a list of foster children who had lived with the deceased couple, and one name immediately catches their attention. Saga discovers that Hans is now brain dead, and the pressure mounts further when she learns that her mother was murdered and that a police investigator wants to question her.

The Bridge - Episode 8

The hunt for the killer intensifies, and Saga and Henrik are now certain of his identity. But when they are about to bring him in, he disappears. A new victim is found, clearly connected to the case, and the investigation suddenly takes a new direction. Meanwhile, the killer is waiting to execute his carefully planned grand finale. As the Internal Affairs investigation into the death of Saga's mother continues, the pressure on her becomes intense, as all evidence points to Saga. After a dramatic shoot-out at the police station, Linn orders Saga to go on leave. How can Saga prove her innocence and keep her job on the police force — the only thing that really means anything to her?

He slips away from police surveillance and meets the perpetrator as agreed, but when Saga and Henrik arrive, they are gone without a trace. Crucial evidence points Saga and Henrik in the right direction — but will they make it in time?
